Okay, first off, I love my sister and we have gotten along so well for so long. She even knows I'm a teen baby. I had forgotten about this memory until she wrote this paper for english class and asked me to see what I thought. It brought a tear to my eye.

I skipped into my parents’ bedroom, golden blonde curls bouncing with every hop, and blue eyes twinkling in the light. As I entered my parents’ average, yet homey and comfortable room, I observed my older brother, Donald, sitting on my parents’ big queen size bed. Mesmerized by the game as always, he was rapidly tapping away at the Nintendo 64 green game controller. Donald always liked to tease me and take the Barbie heads off my Barbie dolls, or we would always fight over everything, even simple little things like who got the last cookie. Video games never fascinated me, it was his kind of thing, but for some reason this one intrigued me. It looked really fun to play, and the game was called Rampage. Surprisingly he turned to me and asked,

“Wanna play?”

“Yeah…how do I play it?”

“Well…the objective is to be one of these giant characters, like T-Rex or the huge gorilla, and go through the city destroying every thing, the buildings, cars, houses. Fro the controls, A is to jump, B is to grab something, and R is to throw it. You can also climb buildings and smash them or pick up cars and throw them.”

“Ok I got it”

I happened to choose the dinosaur while my brother choose the gorilla. As we began playing I made my character jump on the cars. One of the cars burst into flames while I was still on it, and my dinosaur started hoping on one foot crying ow! Oh! Oh! Ee! Ah! Donald and I looked at each other, and at the same moment we cracked a smile, giggles slipped out, then we burst into laughter with tears rolling down our cheeks. I think it was the first time we ever got along without someone forcing us to. It was amazingly amusing to a 6 and 8 year old. As we continued to play the rich smell of buttery popcorn wafted into the room just as the microwave let out a “beep beep beeeeeeep”. A few seconds later my mom entered the room with the puffy golden colored snacks poured into a bowl. She set it down between us and we dug our little hands into the bowl, grabbing as much that would fit in our hands and shoved it into our mouths. It was very warm and salty, and I couldn’t believe we didn’t fight over the bowl; it tasted like heaven to us. While we continued to shovel popcorn in our mouths, the plastic Nintendo controllers started to slip from our grasp from the butter. We had started to amuse ourselves by throwing the cars at each other and again, stepping on the fires.

This is one of my most memorable memories, and one I’ll never forget. I really felt a connection with my brother, and got to share a passionate moment with him. We laughed together and chowed down on popcorn. It was a moment we both enjoyed and it felt really special to me.
